Mercedes me updating

Hi i do have the mercedes me app and i notice that usually the app updates when you use the vehicle… but i also notice that after a while you stop using the vehicle it updates again is it something normal? Does it do that often if you dont use the car for a while?

It’s keeping track of your service history and Sirius Xm. So every so often it’s going to update whether the car has been run or not.

What year is your car? The 2019+ models use a newer app. I can't speak much for the older app, but yes essentially there are ongoing updates. The newer app reports on the SoC of your battery for example. If the charge gets critical you get an alert in the app and via email. It also reports if the car was left unlocked. Trip data or such doesn't update, though, unless you actually drive the car. Things do update, though, including trip data if you open a door even if you don't end up driving it, but the trip data won't have changed obviously.

Also id like to ask if its normal that sometime the app it kinda buggs out and not updating or giving me some wrong information and to fix that i do need to turn on the ignition

Just to add to the above. Problems in the app are not necessarily caused by the app, but they could be caused by your car or the cellular connection. For things to work reliably, the car needs to have a good cellular connection. There have also been cases where the communications module in some cars had issues and required a dealer visit. They actually just pushed out an OTA update to the communications module. Not much detail on the update, and not sure if it's only for the US market. I also just received an update for the app on my iPhone the other day. My car is still working on the latest map update. It was at 97% last time I parked, so that's almost done, too. I don't drive much these days, so updates take a while for me.

I checked on board system and on the phone and everything is up to date for me… im in UK… i did see that before starting the engine i just press the start button 2 times so you see all lights on the dash then i start the engine… the app works perfectly never have an issue… i guess that switching the ignition on first get everything synchronised properly… don’t know i might be wrong just guessing here


P.s also i wanna ask is it worth buying the remote package for the 2019 c-class model?
