carlinkit experience with w205 and 12.3 inch display

The display supports 1920×720 and that works just fine in full screen with iphone, connected or wifi android is forced to use 2/3rds of the screen. If I force it to use native resolution the whole screen will be distorted and unusable.
The workaroundis to use 1920×1080 and put dpi 160 or somthing like that, then it will work but it will be stretched, gmaps wont be centered, there's some lag, less when you move 1 item at the time but if you want to move from 1 button to one thats bit gar away its gonna take a while.

Im honestly not happy, I expected delay but not as much plus i tried the unit with friend's iphone and it worked flawlesly, seeing AA is ran through carplay as well not sure why it wouldnt work... here are some pics, I'm tempted to sell, since returning to china would cost more than its worth, but we'll see in few days. Another downside is cable aa charges your phone too and I got used to that, but my main reason for buying it is to make use of full screen...

This is it stretched, check the gmaps and terrible positioning, even in fullscreen gmap..

This is trying to run native resolution

This is how it usually works, just missing android auto button on the side
To point out, when I have native resolution set, connect menu uses it and everyhing is fine but as soon as it opens android auto page it goes to pic1

Android phone vs iPhone

Are your issues all limited to Android phones? That is, there are no performance or other issues when connecting via an iPhone?
Also, do you think the screen is too large (many opted for the 10 in. display that was the only option until recently).

I fixed it further from the first picture, I've put DPI to 320 and it's centered now. It's not as nice and clear like for carplay and iphone I think, kinda feels resolution is lower, on iphone it's very vibrant, but it works and it's better than having 3rd of a screen cutoff.
It is a bit laggy at times which is annoying but for most use it's fine. I don't always use it, I still prefer to play my music through BT straight up and only use it when I need navi (mainly for traffic)

Assuming you have a 2019 car with CarPlay capability, I guess you could go back to the OEM setup. But it's hard to give up a larger display and touchscreen once you experience it.
Others haven't reported the same Android issues, so maybe you just had bad luck with a specific seller.

I think we misunderstood each other, I am running OEM setup, I have original larger display but as it's limited to wired carplay/android auto, I bought carlinkit device that turns it into wireless. And it works fine for iphone but on android it's bit laggy and still wants to force the resolution where 1/3rd of the screen is cut off by android auto logo(on wired), so changing resolution and DPI on the device fixes that. It works ok but it's not as bright/clean as for iphone, which isn't much of a con, it works fine so it's ok, it just gets laggy when you are trying to select something, luckily it actuates the keyboard on my phone because typing would take forever with the wheel that lags.
