W205 A/c compressor clutch

W205 A/c compressor clutch
Hi all.
So lost the a/c last year but as winter was due, stalled on looking into it.
So initial thoughts were re gas. I had this done, but still no joy.
I have since noticed that the compressor clutch is not spinning when the engine is running.
However after disconnecting the electrical connector and then reconnecting it the clutch engages for about 10 seconds then disengages for no apparent reason.
Any ideas or potential fixes or investigations I could carry out to try and ressolve/remedy the problem.
