Unknown white smoke from exhaust.
Drove my PETROL C class for about half an hour yesterday no problems, through normal roads. Pulled onto a motorway and accelerated to join traffic... Massive amount of white smoke started pouring from the exhaust. It was like someone had set a fire in the tail pipe.
I pulled onto the hard shoulder, switched the car off for about five minutes. Switched it back on and drove home, another journey of non- motorway driving for about half an hour. I accelerated hard a couple of times, no smoke and was fine all the way home. No error lights on the dashboard and normal temperature / engine performance.
I took it to my local garage this morning, no error lights, no fault codes, everything checked out fine.
Has anyone seen this before? Someone mentioned something about a "re-gen" but I thought this was only diesels. Any information / ideas gratefully received!
