Ad Blu Over fill?

Ad Blu Over fill?
Yesterday I topped up my Ad Blu, it was sitting at half full prior to topping up. Following the top up I'm now getting a "Unable to read AdBlu level" message and an engine management light.
I suspect I may have overfilled the tank as I had no issues prior to topping up?
Is it possible to easily drain out some of the fluid? Should I just use the car and hopefully the level will drop and start measuring normally again? Is he car likey to go into an engine restarts countdown?
Any ideas how best to proceed, I'm aware replacement of this system is in the region of £1,900 so I'm hoping I'm not on the brink of a financial disaster!
