Screen Size Upgrade
Screen Size Upgrade
I have a 2015 W205 pre facelift with a Small screen above the centre 3 air vents, I have noticed that on some other W205's there is a Larger screen.
If I Source a larger screen is it interchangeable with the current smaller screen on my vehicle, and if yes does it matter if the larger screen if from a post facelift model.
I am not interested in an aftermarket screen, only OEM.
Thanks in advance.

The bigger display on a 2015 w205 can be installed only in conjunction with the Comand. So you will have to change your current Radio as well. Everything will be Plug&Play except Antiteft pin, Navi code and maybe some coding.
It's not the size of the screen... but the functionality it has.
One of the reasons I bought my car was because it came with a fully upgraded 12" screen that has 360-degree camera, can do Netflix etc. changing from driving on the correct side of the car to now driving a left-hand drive car; the camera really helps when indicating.
However, the system is troublesome.
There are times when everything is switched off, key on my lap and I hear the speaker give off a small blimp.
- times when the screen gives a slight flash and key is in my hand; so I'm assuming its somehow killing my battery in the long run because it must be happening when the car is parked
- there's also other issues like the woofer starts working for the first few seconds on startup and then stops working completely for the journey
- when changing to the android system usb audio and putting on youtube or disney/netflix, the audio is nowhere near as good as when you are running on the Mercedes system
- bluetooth connection and functionality is far from as good as the original
Unless you desperately need it, keep the small screen, it serves it's purpose and size isn't everything... at least that's what she said.
