Engine Oil Level????

So, my daughter JUST HAD to have this Mercedes. I've been an engineer for decades, and I honestly have never seen a more poorly engineered vehicle than this.

What is the magic trick for seeing an engine oil level before this f***ing engine seizes? Yes, I've followed all the visible and hidden bs on how to see it. I sat in the car for ten minutes waiting for an oil level to display to the point I left the vehicle with ignition on (engine off) and came back....to a vehicle which had shut off uncommanded. I just sit in a hot vehicle for an hour? Is that how it works? There's no feedback in the GUI to say how long you need to wait, there's no way to see the last recorded oil level, and it will never tell you the level (and won't tell you why!) if the hood is open. Who would design a system like this? An hour to see the oil level, and an hour to change an engine air filter. Progress!

Anyway, is there some hidden way to force this thing to show the last oil level like using a handheld scanner or something?

I ran the engine for 20 minutes, turned it off, waited for another 20 with the ignition on, and it never said anything except 'Measuring Oil Level...' So I aborted adding oil.

Facelift right? Try using workshop menu and viewing the level in vehicle data, if it doesn't show up there either, your oil level sensor might be faulty.

It ended up showing after 30 minutes of driving, which is absurd. Plus, it was viewable only with the car in motion..... it's supposed to only show with the engine off, ignition on, engine hot, and after enough time for the oil to drain into the pan. At least, according to every piece of documentation. So I still need an end-around if anyone knows if a scanner will show the level without having to risk engine damage.
