Navigation maps update

I have 2019 c class from Germany, facelift with NTG 5.5, I think my latest maps are V22 from 2022.
I've been checking Mercedes app and it offers me a navi bundle that includes live traffic updates, weather and few other things but it also says map updates. I can't seem to find if this actually means it will update the latest version or not, or is that only possible though dealers or too late to do on older model now even? I haven't tried purchasing it but it says available and it offers 9.99e per month option too.

Other option I see is use website like mbretrofit to get the activation code for 50 euros but honestly I dont feel like paying that much as I only want to do this just for sake of having it. Can someone advise?

The 2019 onward with NTG 5.5 update the maps automatically over the air as long as you have an active Mercedes me connect subscription. However, it only automatically updates the so-called home region. You can configure your home region through the web portal. The other regions have to be updated manually by downloading the update from the web portal onto a USB stick or SD card and then insert it in the car and start the update when it prompts.

Gotta check what's my home region, I bought the car from Germany but I don't live there anymore.
I'd do USB update but from what I gathered after it you're asked for a code and you gotta pay at least 50 euros for it which I'd rather not do since I use Android auto more than inbuilt navi but it would be nice to have it updated.
Also the update takes long time and I'd rather not sit in a car for an hour if at the end I need to enter the code I don't have haha so that's why I'm asking now on what to do

Your car has SA Code 531? As the Activation Code is asked before the Map update will start.

Ah ok didn't know it was before, that's good maybe I can give it a try tomorrow and see what happens.
I think it has that code, I mean probably judging by what that code entails, for some reason all the website vin decoders don't work for me but did in the past. I might have screenshot someplace of it but not sure

I remember checking it because I have ils headlights, 2 cameras, lane keep, sign recognition but no high beam assist and wanted to see if I can code that somehow but I never got far with my search and it's been a few years, still curious haha

FWIW, for the built-in navigation to be useful, you kinda want an active Mercedes me subscription anyway in order to have live traffic. The navigation works w/o it, but it'll just be a dumb navigation that doesn't factor in traffic conditions. You also won't be able to search for destinations online etc. Looks like you are still in Europe, so the current map regions should cover you, and the Mercedes me subscription should roam to Montenegro. Mercedes me is regional, so generally you have to create the subscription in the market where the car was bought, so that's Germany for you. Mercedes isn't keen on seeing their cars exported to other countries, so they don't support transferring Mercedes me to another market. Your VIN is effectively locked to where the car was bought.

In the EU we can ask MB to delete old owner account and can register the new. Of course some functions ( almost none) are country specific,
Live traffic is very cool, indeed
