Since you are asking this question in the W206 sub-forum, I assume you meant the W206 C43/C53/C45 (depends on what they want to call it) hasn't been announced yet, they initially planned to announce it during the IAA (source has a good track record but wasn't official by Mercedes, doesn't matter now because it has since been moved till mid Q4 to late Q4).
To answer your question, AMG line is really a styling package to make the base C300 look more like the C43, if you just want the looks and not necessary need the power a C43 has it is something you would want.

Don't worry about it, waiting might not be a bad idea given how everything is over sticker right now plus 2022 is W206's first model year so there might be some glitches that MB needs to fix. If you are from Europe, your wait will be shorter though because after the car is announced, it only takes months for your car to be on sale in dealerships while as North America usually takes at least the following year, so if announced in 2021 by MB, It will arrive in early to mid 2022 in North America as a 2022 model year. For Europe it will still be a MY22 car but will arrive there in late Q3 to early Q4 of 2021. Higher tier cars like S-Class (but non 63 models) usually arrives to North America the same year the car is announced since those are MB's cashcows.
