I have the Exclusive Trim with Driver and Parking Assist options. I have what appears to be a camera lens under the rear view mirror. When I plugged in a new USB it automatically created a Dashcam folder on it. However, in my apps or anywhere else there is no mention of a Dashcam, I do have a gallery folder with nothing in it. How do I confirm that I have a Dashcam and how do I set it up?

Most likely you don't have dash camera itself. It's separate option (21U if I'm not mistaken) and different physical camera (other than parking assist). It might be avalable for Pinnacle trim only.

Bummer, 21U is not available yet in the US and requires 19U correct? Or am I better off buying a 3rd party cam?
Sensitive issue here as our new A3 was just side swiped during a road rage incident, hit and run.

You may be able to add it. I did and it works very well. Much better than adding a third party cam.

I did and it says: "Dashcam is unfortunately not available for your C 300 Sedan vehicle due to the hardware installed ex factory"

I think so since your car doesn't have hardware (dash camera). You can look itself actually. My car doesn't have it too and it looks like this

I am trying to understand your post, what you have circled in the picture is not the Dashcam? This is what mine looks like.

Here is mine. The dashcam is working perfectly. I added it after I received the car. I don't have adaptive cruise control but do have augmented video for navigation. Not sure if that matters:

Yes, it's placeholder. It's where dash camera will be if my and your cars have it. So you have placeholder (blank) meaning your car doesn't have dash camera.

Thank you all. Now that I have determined that I have no camera, just a place for one, I called the Dealer to purchase & install one. They said MB will not make one for post-production install, and that my only option is to buy a 3rd party one. This makes no sense to me especially when I already have numerous cameras in this car (with great resolution I might add), I just want to confirm that what they are telling me is accurate before I shop for a 3rd party cam.

I never heard that any car maker does postsale retrofit (unless it's something meant to be installed at a dialer). So you need to buy 3rd party one unfortunatelly. Or trade in this car and order new one with dash camera option

What is the A2139055310 Mercedes camera then? It is compatible with my VIN, but it has an Add to Wishlist button only.

It can be postsale accessory and looks that will be mounted separatly. The question is how well can it integrate with MBUX if at all.

How did you add the dashcam after you received the car? And did you have Augmented video for Navigation even before the dashcam?
