clearly I figured out nothing about shipping routes from South Africa.
My understanding was there was no RoRo ship going straight to US from South Africa according to all the threads I read here but hey, I’m glad I was wrong.
Completed on 2/14 and picked up a week and a half later, not bad! Nearly perfect timing.
I'm not complaining! I thought end of next week would have been solid and it's going straight to the US. I was expecting to take delivery in April so this cuts almost a month off that.
Car is not released yet in the US - so if that doesn't happen between now and then that will be the point of contention
Guessing there’s no way to determine definitively if your car is on Glovis Symphony similarly to how you can use you P.O. number with Wallenius Wilhelmsen? I know I could ask the SA but the dealership hasn’t been as forthcoming as I would like; they do update me when I ask but it seems they only want to give me minimal info😒 I suspect my vehicle is on Glovis Symphony based on the build and approximate completion date but I’m not 100% certain.

Unfortunately, you cant track the car as efficiently as you would with WW. Do you have your build sheet from the dealer? If you do and your VPC is baltimore, I would assume your car was on the glovis symphony and is currently at port or on its was through the VPC.

Enter your VIN and it will confirm. It's also right on your Build in Netstar for your SA to provide. Google the Port and it shows Brunswick (my car as example)

I do have my build sheet, my port is Brunswick, which it looks like it should come into on the 17th (though Marine Tracker seems to think it'll be there on the 16th). Any ideas on how long it should take approximately from VPC to dealership if it is on Glovis Symphony?

Yea I know the SA can see that stuff, not sure why but my dealership acts like they don't know anything about when cars ship or what ship they're on (I know they absolutely do). Their updates for me are always vague and they act like they're in the dark when I ask for specifics like when I asked them about shipping last week. They're so strange lol I tried the site you suggested but it looks like its returning the same result no matter what I enter. It returns a screen with the time and date and says it'll redirect to my shipment status once I click on the link that just sends me to Hyundai Glovis' website for shipping inquiries. I literally just pasted my Vin into the box but maybe I'm doing something wrong somehow? lol

Thats something I'd like to know. From what I've read, it could be as short as 4 or 5 days or it could be a month plus. Depends on installed options, damage during shipping etc.
Did anyone hear from their dealer about the car being shipped from Baltimore VPC. If not, can you post here when you do get to hear?
I spoke to my sales guy today. He said it should arrive at my dealer in 3 - 9 days. Not sure if that is including the weekend or not. He JUST expedited my car today, even though it's already been sold before leaving South Africa... hopefully everyone else has a better timeframe.
My Sales assistant does not give an estimate as they apparently got in trouble for giving timelines before. They told me my order was marked Priority 1, but they don't have any idea when it might arrive at the dealership.
sent my sales guy a message this morning about the timing once the car gets unloaded and this is his reply:
”It takes couple of days once it’s released to the carrier. But, it may take more than a week for the VPC to release the car to the carrier.”

My sales guy called me last night. Said it's 7-10 days for the car to get to my dealership from Brunswick. I'm in the Atlanta area, so others' times may be different. I'm bringing my trade ('15 Lexus RC350 F-Sport) in for appraisal on Monday and beginning the financing process on my own. Doubtful I'll get a great rate anywhere, so unless it's more than a percent or so I'll be going with MB for sheer simplicity's sake.

Out of curiosity, did he call you on his own or after you solicited an update from him?

I had been communicating with him pretty regularly via email and text. But he called on his own (about 9:45 PM) to tell me the car would be off the ship today, and what the next steps would be and some expected timelines.
