Intermittent tapping noise behind dashboard

Hi,
Took delivery of my new MY22 C200 few weeks ago, I have noticed some intermittent tapping noise near the right side of dashboard behind the meter cluster. Every time it will make a few tapping noise and stop for a while and come back again. The noise will go away if I turn off the aircon, sound like the aircond duct step motor not working properly. It is hot summer down under here at the moment.
May I know if any one having the same issue? Really dont want the dealer rip the whole dashboard off to check this issue in a brand new car. Thanks in advance.

I would surely let the dealer know this immediately and let them investigate. When I took delivery of my C200 launch edition, I left the dealership and after my first 4 kilometers of driving I returned the car. There was a loud hissing noise behind the instrument cluster in the dash and after 4 days of investigating they found there were some rubber seals for the aircon leaking. They told me, one of the reasons can be that the car was sitting still in the factory for about 10 months while waiting for parts. Aircon systems need to run in order to keep the seals lubricated. Either way, immediately keep the dealer involved and keep pushing. My aircon systems (and a long list of other things) has failed a couple of times in the 11 months I have the car.

You just picked it up and not heading to the forums.. bring the car back to the dealership and let them work on it under warranty. The forum is when you are out of warranty and you need help or you have been to the dealership many times and you need additional help and advise.

Ya, sure will sent to the Dealer. I just try to find out if this is a common problem which I can tell the dealer what is the possible problem, if it was just a software issue that I can avoid the dealer to rip off the whole dashboard to investigate.

It is okay but people need to know what you have already done and what the dealer told you. That we if there are others that had the same problem, they then can tell you. If the problem does not go away, then you will need to bring the car to another dealer and do not tell them that you were at another dealer.

Send it to the dealer.
It might be a hvac flap actuator, some time ago I read about a similar issue on a w206 facebook page and that's what the dealer found.

The question is appropriate don't worry about getting it deleted but good advices by others to visit your local dealership to get it addressed.

Not all dealerships are created equal though so if the one you go to is not willing to help, switch. They are all independently owned after all.
