any idea how to activate the Dashcam? i dont see the icon of the dashcam inside the App folder, however i can see that inside my USB stick, Dashcam folder was created by the car and it empty

As @Steely suggested, you may not have the dashcam included. The easiest way to know is checking your window sticker to see if dashcam OR augmented navi is optioned.
If no dashcam app is included, it can be purchased from shop.mbusa.com. If your VIN is eligible, it'll be available for you to purchase. If your car doesn't have dashcam or AR navi from the factory, you likely don't have a camera inside the front mirror and cannot activate it in the Mercedes Me store.
You can check for this at the windshield. You should have one (standard) or two (included with drivers assist and AR navi) cameras that have a triangle cutout on the windshield. Under this, there is either a camera lens or black plastic cover in the mirror housing facing the windshield. Take a look, my car does not have the dashcam wired and instead a black cover:
If your car has the same button in the front of the mirror instead of a camera, you cannot activate the dashcam. Otherwise, you can purchase it from the Mercedes Me store after pairing the car to your account.

I remember you posting about Mercedes Me issues on an imported car. Maybe the car cannot connect to Mercedes serves to download or activate the app. Where you able to set up Mercedes me features?

The only reason I can think of then is that you haven't paid the Mercedes Me connect subscription. Even then, it should be included like it was in the sticker
I would suggest visiting the dealer. If it is equipped and Mercedes me is active, there is no reason dashcam app should be missing.

I can think of another reason: he is from Dubai. Don't know Dubai but the dash cam feature is not available everywhere. Even here within EU some countries have it, some don't, no idea why.

Hi, I agreed with your comment then curiosity crept in! There are several countries where dashcam is disabled, but the UAE isn't one of them.
Neither city or state law restricts dascham. If you go to Mercedes Dubai or AUE site, dashcam is available on more models than in US.

Dashcam availability seems to be lottery, certainly not existing on some countries where laws do not restrict it. Interesting if AUE has it available for more models than USA, unless it is models that are not sold in the US?
This gets strange if the service should be available in Dubai and the owner got the Mercedes Me activated and working but still no dashcam. Your imported car issue could still be the reason?

you will connect to the rain sensor and it’s been working perfectly for me for more than 6 months now without any issues. The only down side to it is that you won’t still be able to access the videos from the car mbux multimedia but will be able to do that from the dashcam mobile app. I tried to upload the installation video but the file is too large
is the dashcam via rain sensor in your car works without the ignition? or without the key fob even inserted.
it works temporarily for few minutes without ignition like when you unlock the car and when you just turned off the ignition
And works fully as long as the engine is powered. You do not need subscription to download or watch the videos. They have their own phone app where you can connect to it through its inbuilt WiFi ONLY while in the car and you can stream live. Let me know if you have any other questions

I have bought this one too. Very easy to install, no hanging wires and messing with fuse box. Like it so far.
Guys, can you please share your experience, so far with this FitcamX dashcam did you have any problems when connected via rain sensor? Why I am asking: I have exactly same-looking dashcam on my GLK, but not FitcamX, it is a chinese noname brand bought on AliExpress, looks exactly like FitcamX and supposedly produced on the same Chinese factory.
It has a problem: there is no seamless recording, it has interruptions and big periods of time are not recorded when they should be, and some of the video files are unreadable.
My assumptions about what causes this:
1. The power supply from rain sensor is unstable
2. The SD card is incompatible
3. My dashcam is a Chinese junk
Please share your experience if anybody had similar problems with FitcamX. I would very appreciate also if you share MicroSD card brand that you use with FitcamX. Thanks.
