I am trying to change the oil but does anyone know what the engine drain plug gasket part number is so I can order it online. Thanks

 

O-ring seals are often packaged with filters. Have you bought a new oil filter and checked the carton contents?

 

not yet but i just schedule an appointment to have the dealer change the oil for me next week, about $200 dollars. I guess I am postponing changing the oil myself.

 

There are two or three O-rings that come with the filter. So far, only MB offers it I think.

 

My G550 has a metal drain plug, and uses a copper crush washer (14mm) that is not supplied with the replacement oil filter (I bought 10 washers on Amazon for a fraction of the auto store price). The oil filter does come with the two o-rings for the oil filer cannister and its drain plug. Interestingly, the oil filter cannister is embossed with Hengst on its inner surface, and the MB p/n includes the filter, cannister and o-rings.

 

This is a w206 line of vehicles and not the G550. There is no comparison between the two.

 

I did not mean to imply any similarity. I'm merely stating the difference and that some filters are supplied with accessories that others are not.
