AMG Line is too low!

Has anyone else noticed that the AMG line of this car scrapes on literally every minor bump or change in elevation on the road? I hear scrapes daily, I’m scared to drive into a driveway or anywhere with a curb without damaging my car.

I can’t believe Mercedes would make a car this low. It’s not even fun to drive.

Well, the AMG Line package includes a sport suspension that is lower than the regular suspension. That's the nature of the beast. Sport suspensions are lower to improve handling. Your observations seem extreme, though. I've driven a W206 AMG Line and I didn't scrape anywhere. That's coming from somebody driving an even lower C63 with aero package and stock suspension where I can't enter/exit certain parking lots or I rip off the front. Have to go diagonal up on many driveways including mine, and had to literally back out of a parking lot a few weeks ago. Was fine going in, but trying to drive out nose first would have resulted in digging a whole in the asphalt with the front splitter, or rather snapping it off.

I noticed this issue alot on my 2022, but it’s not happening at all on my 2025. So clearly there was some change made. Haven’t had it happen at all.

We scrape in a couple of locations around town (including the entrance to our community) but have learned to avoid it by going slower.

You sure you're hearing a scrape?

There is one right hand turn onto a downhill road in my neighborhood where my car scrapes.
The first time it happened, I was afraid I had scraped the bodywork on the guardrail but, realized on subsequent turns on that road, it was bottoming out on the dip in the road.
A bit disconcerting.

Yes, I scrape literally everywhere I go. Most of the time it's not the "car" itself scraping, its the fins that prevent water from getting inside the wheel that are scraping although sometimes it is the actual underside. I do 100% agree with the car looking good, I receive many compliments publicly about the car. No one's ever said anything about any other mid-luxury saloon I've had (unless it's a G80 or AMG).

There are rubber deflector flaps (or so) under the bumper on both sides. Most likely you hear them "scraping" the surface. Besides the noise there is no harm for the car.

As mentioned above, its probably the rubber flaps in front of the front wheels scraping, they sit very close to the ground and scrape all the time, just waiting for one to come loose.

Easiest way is for OP to lift the car up and check for scrapes.
