Spare Tire Options
After my 2nd run flat failure in a rural area on the weekend away from home I need to get a spare tire for my 2023 C300. This time it made me miss a wedding shower. I called my local dealership and they do not show a part number for a donut spare. They were not helpful with ideas for an alternative. I know some other models do have them (GLC I think) and I wondered if any of you have ever dealt with this. Does Mercedes use a standard lug nut design? I have 19" wheels and see donut spares that diameter for other models. I LOVE my car but when you get a tire failure away from a major city you are absolutely screwed.

I too experienced multiple blowouts on the factory runflats in the rough streets of Los Angeles. They're so rigid they actually pop. The wheel hazard package is definitely worth it IMO as it paid for 5 new tires on my last 2 cars.
I've switched to normal tires (pilot 4 all season after the fifth blowout) and got the TireFit kit from the dealer. It's included on all cars with non-runflats from the factory. This is not a true spare since it inflates the tire and sprays the inside with sealant. Pops or large holes aren't sealable. I wish I switched to non-runflats sooner – it's a day and night difference in terms of comfort, noise, and reliability.
You could look into a collapsable spare tire, but it's inconvenient since the lower boot deck doesn't have much space.
