hi, did anyone had the same issue as you see in the video attached IMG_3545.MOV or has any idea if this is fixable without changing the entire thing.
just woke up today and the think won't stay open, i'm really pissed off as it was fine yesterday now it's just not clicking when going all the way down.
Alrighty, i got it fixed today, not easy, had to open the entire central console to get the entire tray out and disassemble, issue was there is a clip that was holding a pin, somehow came off and the pin itself goes into the part highlighted in red that makes the clic sound when the tray is opened all the way back. Tbh all felt too filmsy of a system you would expect mercedes to have a more robust thing going on the cover tray latch holding the pin at the back of the tray cover Pin goes in and out in this little plastic 'maze'

Very impressive taking it apart and fixing it yourself! I would have taken it to the dealer because what a ridiculous issue to deal with yourself. Also makes the lemon law case stronger
On my old 2022, the same latch would open but not close back up.

I did not send it to be fixed to dealer because i know they will ask me to change the entire tray and quote me 500$ if not more for something that is not even broken just needed to put it back into place.
As for your issue of not closing backup is that big spring you see at the end of the latch in the first picture, your issue should be either change that entire spring or if you’re lucky you need to just tighten it up, it does the work of spinning the little plastic wheelies that push it to close back. 100% sure that’s your fix
