Have a service B coming up. Car has 15k miles... do I need to change the air filter. Was thinking of going K&N or BMC.

Besides oem replacement has anyone done anything different?

Depending on which filter, the one where the engine compartment close to the 12V battery is the cabin air filter part 1, replace it every service A, air goes through that first before entering the second filter underneath passenger side called the activated charcoal filter before the air then gets delivered in the cabin. This latter filter change every B service.

Recommend getting oem but yes you can always go aftermarket. Visit mbparts.mbusa.com or go to a local dealership for oem parts. Or you can get aftermarket from fcpeuro.

I was taking about the engine air filter under the hood. This i believe is for service B
Air filter element its called: 254-094-02-00-64

they make k&n and bmc filters for tne engine which is the above 254 094 02 00 number.

Is there a 3rd filter?
