12V sockets

So far I am able to find only a single 12V (car lighter) socket that is placed on the passenger side, in the front passenger footwell. I looked in the trunk and in the central console in the back, but nothing... Is this possible, to have only a single one? I was expecting at least one more in the trunk.

Also, is this 12V socket always on? Or it shuts down eventually after 10-20 mins after car starts shutting down electronics?

Well, you can plug a dash cam into it, so I would assume it will stay on as long as the car is running. I think it turns off when the car is turned off. When I plug a car vacuum into it, I have to turn on the a.c. to get it to operate.

Sedans only get the one 12v port and GLCs have an additional in the trunk. It shuts off a few minutes after the car is turned off. If you're trying to set up a dash cam, I recommend hard wiring into the fuse panel on the right side of the passenger footwell for parking mode. Our GLC is wired like this and on my c300 I have a fitcamx which replaces the housing for the mirror arm and uses the same port as the rain sensor. I love it and was any easy way for me to DIY a dash cam with parking mode versus tucking wires in the lining. The offer a rear camera. I wish I got it but wasn't comfortable wiring through the roof lining myself.

I purchase mangoal power adapter that connected to my 2015 MB GLK350 rain sensor on the windshield. Great device as I can hide wiring above rearview mirror only people is it never turns off. My dashcam is not designed for parking mode. Does the rain sensor eventually power off???
