Question about the base sound system footwell subwoofer
I am waiting for delivery of a 2026 Mercedes W206 C-Class equipped with the standard/base audio system (non-Burmester).
I am planning a DSP-based upgrade using a PUZU Pz-C7 DSP amplifier while keeping the installation as OEM-looking as possible. Before the car arrives, I am trying to understand how the factory system is actually configured, especially regarding the front footwell woofers ("FrontBass").
I have found conflicting information online and would appreciate input from anyone who has measured, upgraded, or reverse-engineered the W206 base audio system.
My main questions are:
- Are the footwell woofers driven by a dedicated amplifier channel, or are they simply connected in parallel with the door speakers?
- Does anyone know the factory crossover points (or has measured them)?
- What is the impedance of the factory footwell woofers?
- Has anyone measured the frequency response of the footwell woofers separately?
- Does the factory system apply any DSP processing, EQ, or time alignment to the footwell channels?
- Has anyone upgraded only the footwell woofers while keeping the rest of the system stock? If so, what were the results?
- Does anyone have wiring diagrams, pinouts, service documentation, or REW measurements related to the W206 base audio system?
Any measurements, photos, wiring diagrams, or technical details would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

For reference the most common audio upgrade on the 206 is doing a Match Up 8 Amp/DSP + Helix i3/match front woofers.
Unfortunately, it looks like not many info are available on the base system. Since some time I'm looking for the circuit diagram of the W206 base system, but I have not been able to find it so far.
My interest for the footwell subwoofer is due to how I will modify the base system. I will use a Puzu Pz-c7 DSP/amplifier, which has a 4 high-level inputs and a 6 outputs (4 high + 2 RCA low level). It gets the 4 high level inputs by means a dedicated harness /y shaped) which connects to the Mercedes OEM unit, goes to the DSP and then back into the original W206 cables.
So, if the DSP is taking the 4 inputs for the 4 channels from the base OEM system, I'm wondering from where the footwell signal comes, and where it goes, using the dedicated harness. In a few days, I will receive the cable from Puzu, but I don't have the cable schematics. Maybe I can ask them to provide one.
My car will be a rented car, so I need to be able to revert it to stock pretty perfectly. In my case also the ratio between quality and cost is extremely important.
I will certainly add the tweeters to the base system. Based on what REW's output is of the stock system, I may decide to replace also the midrange in the front doors.
I'm certainly not an expert in using REW, but I did a few upgrades in the past, and by using REW and the tools I have, I have been able to reach satisfying results and meet my personal audio preferences.
