New CLS63 AMG 0-60?
What do you guys think the 0-60 time of the new CLS63 will be? With the new 5.5L TTV8 producing 570hp with the performance package, how fast will it reach 60?

i believe with the performance package its going to be 550hp, but I expect similar or better performance compared to E55 in midrange acceleration (30-50 & 50-70mph). The 0-60 time is going to be tough to expect due to high torque (min 516ft-lb) are difficult to launch w/o spinning the tires..

It is tough for a big heavy car to effectively put down the power to lauch 4 sec 0-60's. I would like to see 3.9 but probably not reality. 4.3-4.4 is probably what we will see. Who knows though until the mags start testing.

Hmm looks like Autoblog posted about this today about the LA auto show unveiling..
"Option up for the AMG Performance Package and Merc's in-house tuner turns up the boost from 14.5 to 18.8 psi and output rises to 550 hp and 590 lb-ft of twist. Equipped with AMG's seven-gear "Speedshift" MCT automatic tranny, the CLS63 takes an estimated 4.4 seconds to run from 0-60 in standard guise and 4.3 seconds with the AMG pack. Similarly, top speed also rises from 155 to 186 mph with the performance upgrade. And if you care, both variants clock in at 16 mpg in the city and 21 mpg on the highway"

Some how I don't believe the 4.3 0-60 statement. I would think it would be faster. ?

Something about this new engine is telling me to wait to buy a new SL next year rather than buy a 09 63 now.
