2012 White CLS63 with 20's
"Oh, I thought it was time for something a little staid, conservative, and dignified. I'm getting a 4-door with an automatic transmission. White paint. Pretty boring, really."
And then you show up in that evil-looking machine.

Pretty much what I have on order for June delivery (I hope), except for the 20s.
First time I've seen a white CLS63 with the carbon filament spoiler. I was a bit concerned about how it's going to look with the high contrast, but I like it.
What's the deal on the exterior mirrors? Lower half black, upper half matching the body paint? Or are the lower parts carbon filament?
I think my mods will be limited to doing something about the hideous orange side markers (don't know whether the white after-market markers made for the 2011 CLS63 will fit the 2012; may have to wait), and a carbon filament license frame (big whoop) to match the spoiler -- rear only is required in NC, which is fortunate, because a front plate really messes up the appearance of this car.

Is it me, or do the rear quarters (flanks) looks semi-Dodge Charger-ish?
I'm still partial the sleeker, swoopier rear profile of the last gen...and I'm not sold on those taillights. This car will be a monster though.
I think the rear quarters of the new CLS63 look like the haunches of a crouching animal, or maybe the Great Sphinx.
It literally looks about to pounce, and since it's a rear-drive car (thank God), it's probably appropriate that it gives the visual impression of having powerful rear legs.

I know some guys on this site are not fond of the new CLS's rear, but I LOVE it.
However there is one thing that is really bugging me...
That chrome trim on the trunk below the spoiler... It looks incomplete/unfinished/forgotten, gives the impression of uninspiring attention to detail.
It should at least continue to touch the brake lights or curve or something.

The chrome strip terminates at the edge of the trunk lid. Seems logical to me.

Come on man this is a six figure Mercedes. Attention to detail is key!

Any way it just looks incomplete to me. I am sure no one else notices it and it definitely won't stop me from buying the car.
I like the Front END ,,, Nice ,, in a couple years , of good old fashion depreciation ,, Maybe I'll Buy one and keep the Original Coupe trend setter "CLASSIC"
1. The window surrounds appear to be black, not chrome. I like. Is this a Mercedes option, or a one-off custom job? Surely the after-market companies haven't started producing such items, have they?
2. An "Exterior Carbon Package" was shown on the price list I used in ordering mine, but I was told it was not available in the U.S. Probably is in Luxembourg and Albania.
I assume this includes the carbon fiber mirrors and rear diffuser I've seen pics of. Has anyone been able to order this?3. The great majority of photos I've seen show front license plates; the car at the top of this thread does not. Huge difference! Much cleaner. It really shows the vast amount of air available to the engine, and for cooling the brakes. Fortunately, North Carolina does not require a front plate, so my front end will look the same.
"Main focus of the kit is the new three-piece forged wheelmodel 6Sporz². The lightweight wheels were combined sizing 9,5 x20 at the front axle with Dunlop Sportmaxx tyres 255/30/20 and on the drive axle sizing 11.0 x 20 inches with wide tires sizing 305/25/20 inches, either delivered by Dunlop."

Seriously, I'm going to hold judgement until I see and drive one in person. I'm sure it will drive like a monster.
I can see the "Dodge Charger" in the rear quarters. Don't know how I feel about that. I bet if someone could dig deep, we will find a leftover Chrysler desinger lurking and laughing in Stuttgart.
