Congratulations on the great car
If you do not mind, I have couple of questions. I see that you got the performance package with your car, which means your car has the sport suspension upgrade. How is the ride quality of the car? Is it harsh or is it still comfortable?
I have driven a 2008 C63 and the suspension was way too harsh and uncomfortable. I also drove a 2009 cls550 and the suspension was soft and I really liked it. How would you compare your car suspension with these cars?
I am considering buying a CLS63 but not sure If I should get the performance package or not.

I find the ride firm not harsh. My partner has a 2010 CLS 550 and it is soft by comparison. I dont think you could go wrong by passing on the extra HP and top end speed if ride comfort is really important. After al, you will still have 518 hp to get you around..

I believe all the prices are up on the configurator at this time..I thiink the PP is around $7K..it is one component wrapped in the performance center edition pkg [on my car] so it is not itemized.

MBWorld Fanatic!
Brian, just informed me that there sending out 2 thousand postcards to AMG and CLS owners in their dealerships database for the CLS 63 unveiling on the 26th of June At Euromotorcars of Bethesda. And they are also encouraging all of our sales people new and used cars, to let there customers know about the event.
I asked him, if they were prepared for the onslaught of 1000 people showing up. And his answer was, that would be a nice problem to have.

I wonder if it is possible to get the performance package without the suspension upgrade. Anyway, you are right, 518hp is more than enough for me.

I cannot compare to current AMG cars as I have not had an AMG since my 01 E55..That aside, the exhaust note is absolutley great..very very deep rumble as a V8 should be..and if you step on it ( even mildly) she roars..I will try to get a video one of these days..prefer to wait for break in so I can stomp on it...
I love the car...the only thing I cannot get used to is the ECO on/ off feature....It works great but it is simply weird when you are sitting at a light and the engine is off....Of course it is a simple button to shut off ..and there was no gas guzzler tax on the car so it is all good!
Thanks again for the great feedback and compliments by all...

12 E63 matte white
Seriously considering this beast. Does your car stutter (slipping) out of 2nd gear in comfort mode from a stop? I had a 2010 E63 and couldn't stand the MCT slipping from a stop...got rid of it a year later.

2012 CLS 63 AMG Performance Center Edition
2012 CLS63 AMG Launch
Congrats Stewart, I picked mine up last Tuesday, its spectacular!
As for a few of the questions:
I came from an 07 E63 AMG which I loved, but this car, engine, interior, and transmission are on another level. Even the drivers seat that moves with you is incredible. Electronics, voice controls, etc.
The transmission is incredible, suspension is firm but not rigid, cant wait to break her in and punch it.
The car is stunning and turns heads wherever I go.
I'm very happy with my purchase.
