U.S. build/delivery dates for 2012 CLS63s?
What has everyone (U.S. CLS63 buyers) been told about build dates and delivery dates?
Mine was originally scheduled to be manufactured on June 1, but I was just informed by my dealer that U.S. builds and deliveries are behind schedule (with the exception of the special edition models, some of which have arrived, as we see on this forum). My dealer expects the delay to be brief, but could not give me an updated build date. I'm guessing that delivery will be 3-5 weeks after the build date, but that's just a guess.
The good news is that the delay allowed me to change back to the interior color I had wanted from the start. When I ordered it in March, I wanted ash (grey) leather, but was told it was not available with carbon fiber interior trim, which I also wanted, so I ordered black leather (not the best choice for our hot summers here in NC) with carbon. When the configurator finally showed up on the MBUSA site, it showed ash leather as available with carbon, but I was initially told it was too late to change the order.
So now I'll get ash leather, but I'm not sure that getting it is worth a delay of however many weeks.
Anyone who has been given a firm build date, and/or a U.S. delivery date, feel free to post it here. I'm having flashbacks on how long it took summer vacation to arrive when I was a kid.

Mercedes builds cars in 10 day periods each month called decades. The first decade for June would be 6-1, the secind 6-2, ect. Ask for the NetStar printout on your car. It has a lot of information, including the planned status of your build date. Generally you are locked out of making order changes about 4 weeks in advance of production. Usually it takes about 1 month from production to hit the VPS center. Then it is delivered to the dealer. Again, keep asking for copies of the NetStar printouts.

my car was built in May. but the dealer said the delivery will be end of Augest.
3 months diffrence is to much. but it is working fine for me as i will be outside the country till late Augest or early January.

My dealer just told me my "build date" will be July 8, and that I should expect deliver ~30 days thereafter. So much for the June delivery I had been told to expect.
Oh, well. It'll be worth the wait.
Zero to 60 in 3.9? A quarter-mile in 12.1? Really? So sayeth Motor Trend. Something to think about while I wait.
And wait.
