CTS-V Coupe
CLS63 AMG vs C63 AMG Black Series
I am looking at getting rid of my CTS-V Coupe, and am eyeing the new CLS63, or the C63 AMG Black Series (can't wait for the official debut).
I know the CLS will be much more luxurious, but does it feel like a pig?
One of the reasons I am getting rid of the Cadillac is that it weighs close to 4400 pounds and you can feel it in the corners, etc. I know the C63 Black Series will be lighter, but does the CLS63 feel particularly porky, or is it somewhat lithe and quick on its feet?
In a straight line, does the new CLS63 outgun the "old" CLK63 Black Series?
Do you guys think that MB will eventually put the 5.5 bi-turbo in the C63?

Drove a CLS 63 the other day and it's really a great handling car although it does feel heavy. The CLK 63 is more track orientated but to use everyday the CLS is much better imo.
It really depends what you are looking for but the cls is a great machine and comfortable

From what you are describing, wanting to get rid of the CTS-V because of feeling heavy, Id go with the C because Im almost certain you will feel that the CLS is heavy. Its a great car and very fun to drive but its much bigger and heavier feeling when compared to the C. I think you will really be happy with the C63.

a car that gets very poor gas mileage.
Definitely sounds like weight is your primary concern.
You should consider the C63 BS and forget about the CLS63.
You just can't throw the CLS63 around corners and expect to get a similar response to a C63 BS.
One of the main goals of any Black Series is weight reduction.
But I will say, the CLS63 has got the sportiness and luxury formula perfected. The best of both worlds in one car. It's my daily driver.

MBWorld Fanatic!
In terms of handling those cars are worlds apart. If the C63BS is anything like the CLK63BS it will be a hard, unforgiving ride that corners on rails. The CLS is very soft in comparison to a black series. It might be "sporty" but the C63BS would run circles around it on the track.
I have no idea how they compare in a straight line, but it's probably similar.
