2012 Motor Oil

For those who have taken delivery of a 2012 CLS63, what does the owners manual specify (viscocity) for motor oil for the M157 engine? How many quarts? Thanks.

a car that gets very poor gas mileage.

I've already had to add 1 quart and used Mobil 1 0W-40 "European Car Formula".

It's the same oil I used with my M156 motor.

So this is in fact the Mobil 1 vis they come with from the factory?

Did the system identify a need in topping up? And how many miles do u have on her? I have 4000km and it didn't show any need of adding any oil

Yes. There is a message on the dash that indicated to add 1 quart.
I checked the dipstick and the oil mark was about 4mm above the "MIN" mark.
So it seems the system will warn you well in advance.
Didn't take any chances though. Got right over to Pep Boys immediately to take care of it myself.

This occurred at roughly 1,100 miles.
