2012 CLS 63 AMG Launch Edition
How rare is this vehicle? I've seen a reference someplace that mentioned that only 30 were made?
I thought my dealer was pulling my leg when he told me that there were only 8 in the western United States.
BTW, what color is this?

Congratulations on your PC Edition CLS63. You got a very unique and beautiful car. The deal is that each Performance Center got a car that was available only to them, unique color, interior, and combination of options.
The only option missing on my car is the carbon ceramic brakes. It has EVERY other option available on the CLS. My car also has "Sintered Bronze Matte" paint. There is also a grey matte color, but I can't remember the proper name. The car linked at the beginning of the thread looks like the grey matte.

My understanding is that there are two different "packages". There are "Launch Edition" cars, which any dealer can order and are limited to one per dealership. "Performance Center Edition" vehicles are unique to each "Performance Center" dealerships. During the last chat session on the AMG Private Lounge, I asked about the PCE cars, because I have one. This was the response:

The car pictured above at the small local dealer is in fact one of these cars. They could have traded for it or got an allocation from MB.
