Regarding 2012 CLS63 Comand Software
Hi all, I wrote about this below but wanted to clarify a bit more with 2012 CLS63 owners here. My 2012 CLS63 was received in Julyl and the Comand software interface is the same as my E-class from about 2 years ago. However, my wife's new 2012 CLS350 has an updated Comand software interface, with major differences including:
- MP3 search menu, MP3 album covers, etc.
- Phone option includes ability to see SMS (seems to work with Android but not iPhone)
- Various other differences including the ability to see fuel efficiency on the System screen
I also noticed that my Comand has a PCMCIA PC Card slot, while the new CLS350 has just a SD card slot.
So, for you 2012 CLS63 owners could you please confirm if:
- You have the Comand which has the PCMCIA PC Card slot (not the single SD card slot)
- The Comand software interface has additional functions like showing the album cover, being able to search MP3's by artist, album, etc.
I am wondering if my CLS63 was built before an upgrade came out and if an upgrade of the Comand software is possible. My dealer seems unsure about this and isn't willing to take a chance in trying to upgrade the Comand software. I'm just worried that maybe the Comand in the CLS350 is totally different from that of CLS63 and that even with a Comand software upgrade I will not get the features in the new CLS350.

mine has PCMCIA card slot.
it will be easier to just have SD card slot.
i am not sure about it.
mine was built in may 2011.
i have all the options ( flash memory, card, stc)

push these inputs in middle console (hang up phone button) + 1 + # the same time. you will be in engineering mode.
in engineering mode press ( hang up phone button ) + 4 + # the same time . you will be in another menu.
check the version in one of these menus.
you can also change some settings.
