Sure, I understand the quest for more power may result in increased noise. Big Al said he "loves the sound its perfect" though he did express concern over the fact that it could be "crazy loud". Am I wrong that many make exhaust mods just to make the car louder? Since others here report noise creating mods do not necessarily add power, I wonder what there is about the noise that is useful or desirable. BMW thinks the exhaust sound is pretty important as they synthesize an aggressive exhaust note through the car's speakers (!) since apparently the car is otherwise too quiet. see http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13746_7...-using-stereo/ I don't think anyone on this board would consider resorting to this kind of fake noise. So it seems fake noise is not acceptable, but noise for its own sake, if not fake, is good. Just musing about it.
