Like some others on this forum, I too got my first speeding ticket last week. 80 in 65. Unfortunately I am not eligible for traffic school at his time to have it removed. Does anyone know a good attorney who can help in San Jose /Bay area? I am not so concerned with fines (or attorney fees), more about points on my license. Any advice would be most appreciated.

 

You need to get a lawyer and file for a trial by declaration. I know a lot of CHP and they all say this is the best way to get off. It creates the most paper work and biggest headache for the officer that wrote the ticket.

Be sure to extend the court date as long as possible as well and hope that the officer doesn't care enough to write his case.

Only 15mph over speed limit...They're hungry for funding there in Kali, I tell ya. That's why I don't live there any more. Here in Indiana, the limit is 70mph and cops don't care when you are cruising at around 80mph since that's everyone's cruising speed.
