2013 delays
After giving up on finding a car on the ground with LSD I finally decided to wait it out and order the exact car I wanted. I was just notified the LSD is going to delay the vehicle except I can't find out for how long or from when to when. Does anyone know when the 13's will be released or typically how long of a delay I could be facing? I think I have a mid June build date but I've been told they mat not be released until August or September. I have no idea if LSD turns it into a one, three or more month delay. I'm tempted to move forward without LSD. Its a non PP car.

Its always something. I ordered mine right about this time last year and it was finally built in Oct, delivered around thanksgiving. I think it was the carbon fiber...
I think it would be fun to mod out a non PP car personally but you'll end up spending more than the PP option cost...but it would be better too.

Has anyone heard any info on the LSD delays? My car still doesn't have a build date and the dealer can't find out anything. I've been waiting..... forever, it's killing me. Would love to have it before the M 5 hits

My build date is July 10th. When I previously saw your post my dealer contacted amg and was told there are no delays in production with LSD optioned cars. I'm told I will have my car with LSD at the end of July or early August.

I gave up on looking for one with limited slip and just purchased one off the lot without it. My prior CLS 55 did not have it and never really encountered a situation where I thought I needed it. Will drive the new one for a while and put an aftermarket unit in if I still feel the need.

This is what bothers me about Mercedes. You make these high performance cars and you dont make LSD standard. Who the hell is gonna buy a 500-600hp and trq car without a LSD? pretty pathetic. Atleast make it part of the performance package like it used to be. makes sense. I, personally, would never buy and AMG without an LSD. I too was looking for a CLS63 and almost all the ones on cars.com have stupid non sense electronics, PP and no LSD. Dumb. some of these guys that order for dealers should be shot with the options they add or leave out. All AMG's(especially PP cars) SHOULD have LSD. No question

I have heard the oem LSD, though well engineered, relies on friction and will eventually need replacement. On the other hand, the Quaife LSD is mechanically based and will never need replacement. MB should just contract with Quaife to make it their oem LSD in all AMG cars.

Rock, I hope your dealer is correct. I talked to my dealer yesterday and was assured mine is delayed with no information on how long. They also assured me that i don't have a build date. I ordered months ago with an original build of July. Doesn't sound logical they wouldn't know. Anyone else have any insite on this matter?
Can't figure out why they wouldn't or couldn't get a car.

The AMG Performance Package for the US (P30pkg) – cost ($7,300.00) and includes:

Well, adding up the wheels and the lsd, you get to about the cost of the Cdn PP, so we get the cf trims and spoiler for free! Surprising as we usually pay more than the US for cars (and lots of other stuff).

You guys need to look elsewhere if you dealers are giving you the line about delays. My dealer just sent me this message for MY13 with LSD:
CLS63 shows that it is “on the water” and the vessel name is “TYSLA” and it has a port arrival ETA of 7/26

Just checked with my dealer and my CLS63 was built on July 16th and should be loaded on a boat soon. My order was placed on April 18th and includes PP, LSD, Parktronic, P1 Pkg, Twin 5 Spokes and Piano Black Trim. According to my dealer, they have not heard about any delays on the 2013 CLS63. Hope this helps!
