buying under invoice




we are looking into a cls 550 or maybe e550, or possibly a competitor midsize, dont know yet,
and ofcourse we call all can go online and see what the invoice price is but how do we maneuver ourselves to get the price there or under
vic55 has talked about the 12% that the dealers have as profit built in. is the key to knocking that off just being very stubborn and resilient, or what other tips can we use

I think there are many specials regarding these cars. The 12%-13% amount is generally not shared but of course it depends on the dealer, allocation, factory additional money, desire to move etc....




the w126 was purchased grey market when i was 7 yrs old through a dealer in London
the others were at fletcher and laguna but everytime we go back the salesperson has moved on to some other place. Even my recent purchase sales guy is gone.
in terms of trading, i want to get rid of the w220 and 140, they are great but its time to go, almost a combined 400000 miles there.
my dad hates the w221, specifically the seats, so mom drives it, so were trying to narrow it down to what he likes
he doesnt need a new S so we are looking midsize but u dont get the same nice ride .
he hated the caddy xts, didnt care for the shape of the cls, so might go with the E, but didnt like the lack of power in the e350, so we might be left with a 550. He doesnt want or need amg cars.
and how about the new 7-series? new A8? I know you said midsize, but he might like the comfort.
