Why the hole in the top of the ECU? I know Kleemann does it this way but apparently Renntech does not. I'm sure most members with these new biturbo cars do not want their ECU physically altered.

We understand completely how members feel about having the ECU modified. However, we feel that the little hole mark is much less noticeable than having the cover removed and large pry marks around the whole ECU cover. Unlike others who modify the ECU this way, we fill in the hole with epoxy and paint match it to the ECU. The reason for all of the hassle is because the ECU has a failure rate of 40% or more if opened.
Secondly, because the ECU is on top of the motor, we feel the way we are now doing the mod will protect the ECU from moisture and any water that the ECU might encounter from engine washing.

We are able to tune most cars via obd, its just the newer ecu's that need to be shipped in. (new bi-turbos)
