You know, I never worried about it, until this thread showed up.
I just thought it was because of the tune to 734 ft-lbs caused this to happen.
Well, if someone comes up with a solution, let me know.
Otherwise it is kind of my personnel accelerometer.

Granted not the best answer, but it just means your enjoying a tuned ecu in S+ mode. I just wish it didn't have the auto shut down mode in C. The air doesn't blow cold and living in Miami that's a big no no.

If yours is not opening you are not driving the car the way it is supposed to be driven! ; )
I use either two nickels or two pennies, stack them put them a few inches in from the front, you will find the sweet spot!

I took my 2012 CLS 63 to the dealer 2x for this issue. It is now fixed. They said that they "tightened a spring". After the fix, for the first few days it took 2 hands to slide the cover. It then loosened up to a usable amount of tension and works fine now.
Interestingly, I test drove a 2013 CLS 63 and it had the same issue. The reason I was test driving it was that I have been having repeated issues with my car and the dealer suggested I come in and test out the 2013. They seem to think that if all of the CLS 63s have the same problems, then they aren't problems. For the record, the 2013 had buzzes/rattles in both doors, the eco start/stop allows the cabin to heat up, the sunroof shade slid back, and the parking brake sets itself when bumped.

Parking brake who cares. Rattles, yes I will check them out. Is it hard to tighten the sun shade myself or do you have to go to the dealer?

I care and multiple people who own CLSes and E classes care about the parking brake.
I didn't try to fix the shade myself so I have no idea if it is something that is easy to fix yourself. Sorry.

Didn't want to bother going to dealer so I took hoolamonster's advice, one nickel on each side and it's holding for now, will have to get it fixed before next summer though.

Ajag, your driving a 120k car that is tuned by hartmut, Call the dealer man and don't white trash it.
