Has anyone been able to defeat/reprogram/disable the default mode of the car always going back to C / ECO mode when car is turned off, then restarted?

 

short answer. No solution. This issue is aweful in florida. Losing A/C cooling when the engine shuts off is brutal. They didn't inform me about this prior to purchasing the car and mercedes and the dealer don't care. My car doesn't even obey the vague guidlines for eco start stop given in the manual and MB and the dealer just tell me tough luck.

 

You will need to press your AMG button (granted your AMG button has non C mode as its setting).

I understand you are actually looking for a true bypass; I dont think anyone has done or found out yet and there has a been a few posts inquiring with no resolve.

 

yes, I learned from Vic: the amg button.........and the dynamic seat button and the massage button....love the buttons
and the side seat bolstering business is the best.......

 

Having the air cut off makes that feature terrible. Granted I only drive in C mode when my wife is in the car. But it sucks. If I could change features of the car I'd change the
Eco shut off
Have the air preset on recirculating not ventilation
The air Collins seats blow stronger
The ability to control the stereo with the center command when navigation is on
Pushing the button once to get your settings rather than having to hold it down or when it unlock the door it knows the setting automatically
Side mirrors fold in when you shut off car

 

At least hit the Eco button to stop the engine shut off, and A/C.

 

and there is still absolutely no no no rhyme or reason as to when it initiates or not

oil temp, engine temp, outside temp, inside temp, high tide, low tide, full moon, eclipse, summer, winter, republican, democrat,.......none of this gives u any incling if it will initiate or not......it is the most random facking system

go through the cars computer system? get an MB tech to go through it? and if your dealer is unwilling punch them in the face and go somewhere else.

 

I think Renntech offers this as an option when getting a tune.

The Renntech tune does disable the eco stop/start. I have the tune installed on my 2012 CLS63. Contact George Leca at Renntech for details.

normal ECU tune for you???

 

I had it disable today in ten minutes, also the disable the seat belt chime and change it the system from F to C , the only thing i need to do now is the radio frequency from odd numbers to even

 

Could you please share on how you got it done? Was it your dealer or you went into programming? We are all interested in DIY instructions

Not a dealer , just a tuning shop , and the guy is from german , i did not see what he did but i think he just use OBD , i can get you his email .
