Airstrip Attack 2 - Nov 10 & 11!!!
Looks like another airstrip roll-on event coming up by Shift S3ctor. The venue looks to be much improved from last time. Hope you guys can come out and represent the AMGs with me. Can't wait!!!
http://shift-s3ctor.com/?p=1483
Registration is open, but I don't see many AMG's signed up. Come on guys!

Thanks Jason! Was happy to see your name already on the list of registrants too. So what's your current mod list? I'm planning to have a tune in by the time of event, just not sure which yet.

Hotel and Lodging:
We have reserved discounts at two hotels in the area. The “Socal” location is about 30 minutes south of the Airport and the “Norcal” location is about 30 minutes north of the Airport. Most cars will be at the Socal location.
Socal Location:
We booked 50 rooms at the Best Western in Kettleman City. They’re already filling up. Mention Shift-S3ctor for a discounted rate. We will be hiring private overnight security to watch the vehicles at this location as most cars will be staying at this location.

Norcal Location:
We also booked 20 rooms off for those that don’t want to drive another 40 minutes or so to the other hotel. Again, mention Shift-S3ctor for a discount.

Agency Power Downpipes (will be here on Monday)
Res delete/straight pipe
KW coil-overs
Replaced stock Conti's with Toyo 888s
By the time Airstrip is here I will hopefully have a turbo upgrade and some other goodies that should bring me close to 800HP...maybe more.
I'll be at Drag Night next Friday at Big Willow with some friends if you interested. Should be fun.

Where is that? I have to be at Streets of Willow that afternoon. I rented the track so we can test and tune my car. We have to dial her in for a "test and Tune" event that will be covered in European Auto magazine...

The car culture out here is just amazing....I don't think a day goes by without another modded car pulling up to me to talk. Love it....except the 112 ticket I just got....thats not good but I learned a lesson to keep it on the track.

Famoso is in Bakersfield, so not that far north from Willow Springs. Gates don't open until 7pm, so you could run at Willow all afternoon and then meet up that evening at Famoso for proper 1/4 mile testing. Let's do it!

I just registered for the Airstrip Attack event. I hope it will be fun. Cannot wait to do some rolling start races. Freefall, what is the tune on your car, Renntech?

I love the Weistec tune. No issues whatsoever. I am not sure how it will compare to the Renntech though. I was running 11.8s 1/4 mile on a hot 90-degree day. I was struggling with grip though with 2 second 0-60 ft times. On the track, the car was great, no power loss or heat issues. My oil temp went up to max about 250 with high 60s temp outside.
I went with Weistec mainly due to the price and them being local in Southern Cal. They were very nice. It took total of 45 minutes in and out for them to do the tune.

Love see our car on he track. Awesome! I run Renntech but have other mods as well and will have even more by the time Airstrip comes along. What tires are you running? Going from the stock conti's to toyo 888 was a huge improvement..night and day. I also upgraded my brake pads which also made a huge difference. What HP class did you sign up for at airstrip?
I am still running the original Conti's. They were melting on me on the track but still held up. I am waiting until their done with before getting something new.
I signed up for the 600 hp group, but I heard you can run with other groups if you ask for or if you car is not on par with the group. I wasn't sure what the cranck HP would be. Weistec tells me I got 618 to the wheels.
Also, have you tried running in Dyno mode, is there a difference?

I wouldn't run in Dyno mode on the track as LSD really helps out there. And let me tell you something about those Conti's...they suck and you will feel like your in a different car when you get better rubber. I did a rolling drag event with my conti's and i was slipping like crazy from a 50mph roll. Then I went to Pilot Sports and I am not a huge fan. BUT NOW....Toyo 888s are my new best friend.
Also - If you are running 618WHP you should be running in the 700HP group but your right...you can run in different groups. The boys at **** S3ctor, the guys running this event,
are some of my best friends. Your going to have a blast!!!

Yep...you nailed it. Wait to you meet the people...its really a great group that cares more about having a good time than winning. I met this group about 4 months ago for the first time and I can honestly say that they are some best people I have ever met.
And we we will be little dogs...lots of 1000hp monsters running 3 -4 seconds 60 - 130 times
