New pics with HRE P44SC wheels added Page 4-My 2013 F10 M5 Pics and Dyno Info inside

Is it better than my M157 AMG's? Yes and No- it has its advantages. But the beauty of what I like to do is that I can try cars out- enjoy them and then move on. Im sure Ill do the same with the M5 but for now its my 4 door car of choice. I just got it dyno'd yesterday and have attached some pics and some shout outs as well.
Its no AMG and its not meant to be. I have had 7 AMG's and this is my 5th M. Both cars serve their purposes for me.
Some minor mods:
Alpine white front bumper reflectors (IND)
Side Badges in gloss black (IND)
Rear Black Emblem (IND)
Eisenmann Race Axle back only (Vivid via IND)
H&R Springs (Serge Benzworks)
Vinyl Roof and Door Handles in gloss black (GraphFX)
BMW Carbon Fiber Performance Spoiler (Serge Benzworks)
Coding (thanks to Niko1414 at M Post)
Dyno and Pics (EAS)
FYI- the dyno graphs are mis labeled- I do NOT have a center/mid pipe just the axle back exhaust which yields no proven hp or tq just sound! Dynojet dynos tend to read a little higher but my M5 has dyno'd the highest of any of the stock ones EAS has done thus far. Maybe its my secret break in procedure LOL.

Throttle response and steering are my biggest complaints about the CLS. Interesting that you note that those are two strong points of the M cars.

Congrats and keep us posted on your impressions! My next car in a couple of years might be the new grand coupe in M version if available by then.

And you are right Ive had the car for about 6 weeks and the feel is definitely different- and I like it. Ill tell you this, when Im cruising on the freeways I love the speed of the tranny. The DCT shifts so fast and really allows for efficient power delivery to the ground...Im working on getting a tune soon then we shall see the apples vs apples of this car vs a tuned M157. The active differential is quite impressive too; it allows for some stout 0-60 times in a non AWD unit.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG

enjoy your new toy
what kind of HRE's have you picked??
mine came for the Targa today and are so sick on the car

I am curious what those cars put down on more average reading dynojets. I've heard that the EAS dynojet is very optimistic, but I'm sure you'd still pull over 500whp, which is very impressive for a car rated at 560hp crank.

but it's one preference.
Indeed, nice interior but not so much for the exterior design compared to the AMG. Hmm, maybe my eyes are playing trick on me, but I thought the M5 also has some type of faux leather dashboard but I don't see any stitchings. M5 doesn't seem to equip their cars with stainless pedals. That brake pedal seems kind of small compared to most cars on the market--I wonder what's the rationale for the small size since this one is not a manual. By the way, were you not able to get rid of the amber rear markers below the taillights?
So which car in your previous collection ends up leaving?

Overall in regards to electronic driving adjustments its no comparo- the BMW allows for more control- Benz incorporates shifting and throttle in one button (C, S, S+) and doesnt have direct steering control like the BMW. The M has shift speed adjustment, throttle adjustment, and steering adjustment all separately along with the dampener control. I need the steering adjustment because in sport plus there is a ton of oversteer so I run the steering in comfort mode. There is also the MDM (M dynamic mode) which sorta like ESP sport and that really opens up the car and holds back the electronic nannies.
CLS looks are more aggressive- M5 looks are reserved and more stealthy- pick your poison or lack of it
CLS supsension is tight and slightly unforgiving yet mushy at times but still very taut at higher speeds. The M5 suspension is what I really like about the car- not too bump or tight but just has a rock solid feel in all environments.
CLS steering is electronic--- its not for me and too much oversteer in high speed bends. AMG got it right with the C63 Black Series but Im a fan of the hydraulic steering in the M5. Now dont get me wrong the M5 is not perfect either but Im able to adjust the servotronic to get the steering to my preference. I feel more comfortable in the M5 in all speed and road situations steeringwise.
CLS interior is nice- soft leather- ok size Nav screen- bolster seats (M5 doesnt have them). I like the M5 interior better- the leather is Merino which is a step up on Nappa- the steering wheel is a beast and the Nav has a huge screen and the I drive has more options. Call me weird but I really really like the Heads Up Display which places rpms, gear, and speed on the windshield. You can also put the Nav directions on if you like. There are small creature comforts I get in the M which I dont have in the CLS. I like that the TPMS shows psi and tire temps too. Im not a rotund person so I do wish there was side bolsters in the car. I guess they are coming in 2014.
CLS exhaust is much better stock- loud bark start ups. The M5 has a vaginal exhaust. I had to change it immediately. But its something I could change.
CLS MCT doesnt hold a candle to the DCT--- In speed of shifts and efficiency of power deliver. This is where the M5 gains back some of its displacment loss factor. As I have mentioned before the M5 has an active differential so lockup varies based on demand and the cars electronics. The CLS, if you get the optional lsd, is a 30% lockup setup. This is **** poor to me after driving the M and enjoying the 60% lockup of the C63 Black Series. 30% is just too low with all the power that the CLS has not just from a dig but going and coming out of turns too.
There are other things that can be compared like wheels, tires, but thats even more subjective. I do like the LED headlights in the CLS but like the way the active headlights in the M function better.
LOL

The rear markers are red- the photography made them appear orange.
I think the CLS is gone--- Im looking at an SLS to replace that. Maybe. Maybe not.
