Could be a lot of reasons, for example the 2014 comes in two versions (CLS63 4Matic and the CLS63 S-Model with 4Matic) and the official release is August. Both versions have more standard HP and Torque compared to the current/previous year model. So this maybe one reason, but I'm sure that there are more.

Let me be the first to say that I'm no longer in the market for the 2014, I had to jump on the deal that Pert offered. So say hello to the newest member of the W218 club. I'll post some picks once she arrive to her new home.

Thanks Pert for an outstanding deal!!!

TD was super easy to deal with, a straight shooter...and we got the deal done and right now, the White Cocaine Unicorn II is awaiting her chariot to take her to her new owner!

TD congrats.
I was in a similar boat as you. I was waiting for a 2014 CLS4matic and I could not pass a deal on the 2013 I had ordered.
I obviously did not get the deal you got with all the aftermarket stuff you got. You a lucky man.

Thanks guys, I definitely feel lucky and deals like this only come around once. It was a definite that I was going to get the 2014, but now it can't even compare to the deal I got and in order to replicate what Pert did to this beautiful ride would be a serious undertaking.

JP Logistics is handling the transportation so I will take a few snap shots and a quick video clip when they deliver her next week.

yeah, I was thinking about all the stuff Pert did to that car.......what wheels did you get?
I forgot.........
I'm looking forward to my E and TT going.........for the W222........I'm a family man
but I could never let the CLS go.......I love it too much...it's such a good car, then again,
I only drive it two days a week, which would change when I don't have a TT anymore....
having several cars is great because they all have different characteristics obviously...
it's fun to drive when you have nice cars

I got the P40SCs that are on the picture on the thread, he did give me the opportunity to get the S104s as well, but really liked the way the P40SCs looked and tend to collect several sets wheels for the cars I get and I didn't want to keep changing up on this ride. Great deal all the way around though. I'm also a family guy and I've had the 750Li and 221, but I wanted something a little sportier and the 218 has just enough space for the wife and my twins. Also now since my middle child his moving out and on the way to College next week, I have an extra space in my driveway for my 221 and the 218 will take it's place in the garage.

I took a look at a video of the 222 today and the car is outstanding and the new S63 is even better. They're coining it as the "Best Car In The World"!!

Initially I was looking at three different cars, all 2014s. I was considering the Porsche Panamera GTS, the BMW M6 Gran Coupe, and the CLS63 AMG S-Model. The Porsche was under powered and over priced, the M6 was nice and I like that the services visits were included in the price of the car, but it didn't "WOW" me. After doing a lot of research and following the board and emercedes.com, I was more focused on the W218. I've owned two BMWs and although I enjoyed them, I also favored the Mercedes.

I have a coworker that has the Panny, it's a pretty big car almost as big as my W221. As far as the Mustang, I bought it for my daughter to drive and she get full ownership of it in two weeks when she heads off to college. It's a fast little car, but to small for me. The 218 was the best way to go.

I agree with you. I test drove the Panamera GTS before I bought my CLS, and the Panamera feels so heavy and big plus I don't like the rear end without the wing opened. I wanted M6 GranCoupe when there were rumors it was coming out (and pictures) -- but IMO after looking at couple of GranCoupes on the streets I found it weird being it too long (almost like an S class). I think CLS is the best 4door coupe out there, classy, elegant and yet has the sporty look to it

Same here, I drove a Panamera Turbo and it felt bigger than the CLS even though I think it is faster in twisties and easier to launch. Faster to 60 but pretty close to even at 1/4 mile.
The one I drove was a 2010 and without the sports package, I could get the car to start in 1st unless I used manual mode.
The fact that you need to spend another 50K to get similar / better performance was a no brainer.
I was not a big fan on the never ending rows of buttons everywhere either.
The exhaust gave no aural feedback.
From reading other reviews, the GTS model fixes the exhaust and price difference but the CLS is still faster.
Back to the OP's post, here's something I just installed. I know it is not for everyone but for $250 installed ($25 part and install by an MB tech), I like it .
PS: can someone remind me how to post bigger pics on the forum?

Dont use the attachment option in your posts but instead use your own hosts (aka imageshack etc) server or post the pic with the attachment using mbworld but at the same time take the mbworld url and use the mountain (yellow icon) and paste in there- and then clear the attachment section.
