2013 vs 2014 model pricing and S-model value
- Power bump (HP 550>577, TQ 531>590)
- Limited slip differential ($2030)
- Illuminated door sills ($850)
- Painted brake calipers
- 10-spoke AMG wheels in grey or black
- AMG Performance steering wheel
The 10-spoke wheels look pretty nice to me but unfortunately they are not forged. The S-model also gets contrast grey stitching on the standard black leather interior, silver seat belts, and the special interior and exterior badging.
Power bump for the S-model is considerably less than one would expect from a 3rd party ECU tune but does prevent any potential warranty issues with the engine. A good local shop I have used charges about $2,800 for their tune (claimed 655HP/711TQ, includes $300 for upgrade to colder spark plugs).
For the base model, the increase of $3,600 adds 4MATIC and the horsepower (but not torque) bump from the previous AMG Performance package; 4MATIC has been a $2,500 option on the CLS550 so MB is basically charging $1,100 for the extra HP.
It seems the S-model is overall worth the extra $7,000 particularly if one does not opt for a 3rd party tune and/or likes the 10-spoke wheels enough to keep them.

I am really not happy with the dealer but I should have known better that they wanted to sell me the 2013 I had ordered. They advised that the 2014 with 4matic was going to be substantially more expensive which is really not the case.
The $106,500 is actually within $500 of a 2013 with the options mentioned on your post which is really a deal because it means the 4matic is basically no charge. I understand they took out the engine carbon fiber but who cares about that.
