2012 CLS63 AMG PP, 2012 Porsche Cayenne
I have to admit I've been reading up on the F10 M5 LCI with Comp pkg...and it is starting to get me thinking about a switch. Then I'm driving down the highway today and a cop pulls up beside me, starts pacing me and rolls down his window, at highway speed, we're having a conversation about my "sweet ride", how much hp, etc. I've slowed a little so we can chat, blocking up two of the three lanes of highway, with traffic building up behind us but no one willing to honk or pass. It was quite the scene, especially as I could see the traffic behind us wondering what was going on. He finishes the conversation by saying "enjoy the ride and drive safe" and drives off. Now that never happened with my M5.

wait...so a cop told u your mercs was sweet, but u are thinking about getting an M5.??? I guess next time youll probably be getting a ticket

I usually keep my cars 2 to 4 years. Traded in E60 M5 for CLS 6 months ago. Enjoying the CLS but I have to admit there is just something missing compared to my old M5. Wondering if F10 M5 has that "something"?

In my E60 M5, only car enthusiasts commented on the car, except when I was on Bluetooth phone, then the person on the line would always ask if I was at the racetrack, and that was without the exhaust note coming out of the speakers

As for your second question, the pipes and exhaust added 4,000 HP and my car is now faster than Zeus's Mount Olympus Ford Tauras.

And Vdub, I didn't get a tune and don't know the HP numbers for the downpipes and exhaust but I think other than weight reduction (exhaust) and better airflow with the downpipes, I don't think the HP/TQ gains are significant - and definitely not as significant as they would be if I went the catless route.
