My dealer (Hoehn Motors of Carlsbad, CA who has been extremely helpful) says:
"Here is your engine number in full:
15798160039673
You were right, there’s a 157 there. I’m told by our Shop Foreman that the first three numbers denote the engine, the next three are the engine “generation”….. and the rest are transmission and serial numbers."
Here's a photo of this wonderful vehicle (set against our southern Utah's red rocks) now with 680 easy miles awaiting the end of the break-in period:
