First time @ Drag Strip Result with 14 CLS63 S
Hello all,
First time running the 1/4 mile with a 2014 CLS63 AMG S today.
Best run was
When I say best run, I mean one of, the thing did back to back to back 11.85's with a 1.8x 60ft.
Times were run using Race Start function, so all settings to Sport. Completely factory stock car, 1/2 tank of gas.
Hoping on a cooler day to run 11.6's. Overall very impressed with the car, my father was in the stands when I ran the first 11.85 and apparently there was a collective surprised gasp from audience lol.

geez.. that 4-matic AWD sure must suck the power away.
with a 1.8 60ft, but yet only 118 mph???
i believe i managed a 121 mph in my RWD 2012.

That said I was expecting the car to mph in 120-121 range.
Happy with the time but always looking to improve.

my best 60ft with that big heavy RWD beast was 2.2 sec!
and still managed a 121 mph. and my track is over 2000 ft altitude.
which is what leads me to believe the awd is robbing serious power.
i saw a dyno result chart of the new 2015(facelift) that was tuned, with claimed 700 hp, and it was putting only 524hp to the wheels!
thats 176 hp loss. like 26% drive train loss!
i know id be pissed if my tuned cls63 was making only 524 hp to the wheels.
should be like another 100 whp.
regardless im sure with a tune your car will see much better times.. certainly low 11's... 11.0-11.3.
anyone see any better number dynos of the AWD?
