25 mpg in an AMG?

25 mpg in an AMG?
After a 127 mile road trip this morning on a moderately congested freeway with a couple stops, I was surprised to see a 25 mpg figure. I had a few aggressive passes, but for the most part the traffic wouldn't allow for much more.

Surprising to say the least for a 550 hp V8.

Not sure why the photo is upside down, but you get the idea

Glad to see that. I've yet to get the upper end of the advertised MPG's in any car I've driven. At 75mph best I can manage is 22-23. At 55, I bet that number would rise.

Probably not unusual if you are going between 55-62mph on average for a good period of time.

I usually see about 19-22 per gallon.......but this is the fun car so gas matters little, especially since the prices have been dropping

Sounds about right. Even the tuned ones rarely dip below 20.
