Rough ride issue / Vibration

Hi,

I just bought a 2014 CLS63 S. Overall, I love the car, but it has a slight (but noticeable, and annoying) vibration issue. I thought it was the tires, so I just replaced them, and while it's better, the issue is still there. Any help is appreciated...

1) Car idles smooth, and revs smooth in idle

2) Car accelerates smooth, and straight

3) From 30mph to 80mph, at any constant speed, the car slightly vibrates. I believe I feel it in the floor board as well as the steering wheel. It's not that noticeable on rough roads (which is why the test drive went so well). This is with brand new tires on newly paved roads.

4) At any speed the vibration is the same if I shift to neutral or in drive, cruise mode or normal driving.

Has anyone else had a similar issue?

Thanks!

You could have your wheels checked for runout - mostly lateral (side to side). Any more than about 30/1,000" (about 10 sheets of copy paper) and you will feel it. Tire installers will not notice anything that small.

Thanks, I just got back from a good wheel repair shop... All 4 wheels had bends in them! Everything was repaired and the car drives much better, but it's pulling to the right a bit, so it needs another alignment after the wheel repair.

My question is, do you guys feel every little bump / curve / notch in the road? I'm trying to figure out if the very small vibrations I now feel are just how the car rides, or indicative of more wheel / suspension issues.

It's a very smooth ride. Not an S-class type ride, but very smooth. You'll feel imperfections in the road, but not every imperfection.

Alright, I just swapped wheels with my E55 (19x8.5 35 and 9x10 45) and the CLS drove amazing. Finally what I was expecting out of this car. So it was the wheels all along.

... Also, I anyone cares, the stock CLS 63 S wheels fit a W211 E55 perfectly.
