2012 CLS63 40K service
Hi guys wanted to share what to expect when getting your 40K mile check up.....the list is a little longer at 40K.....and needs rear diff change if your car has it.
mobil 1 5w-40, fleece filter and a few other fluids
engine air filters (2)
brake fluid flush(every two years)
transmission service-removed pan, cleaned pan and magnet, replaced pan gasket and filter, replace fluid
rear differential service, due at 40K miles
total was 1048.07 but that cost also had a 150 detail job too.....wash/wax, clay exterior, exhaust tips etc as well as full interior detail
hope everyone's CLS is tiptop yeah?
hopefully this can be a cost reference for those coming up on service .......
work was done at an indy shop, spent the night so they gave me a loaner too

Regarding the transmission service, my 2013 cls63 has only 25k miles on it but it is 8 years old and has not had the service done. Should I get the transmission service done at 25K miles? 3 dealerships and an indy shop gave 4 different price. Indy $500, the other 3 dealers: $400, $675, and ... $1100 lol All 3 are before tax, not flush, just fluid fluid, gasket, and filter changed.

Hey there Dustin, I'd certainly get it done with the age of your car. Where you go is up to you Man! low miles! Get that thing out there and put some miles on it!

The car had some transmission jerk on manual and I thought it was normal. It is a lot more smooth now after the transmission service, I don't feel that jerk anymore. By the way, I've just found out I've been riffed off at the local dealer for the last 7 years. 30 minutes driving to a different dealer has saved me over $275. Double checked some of the big jobs that have been done on my old E63, the prices were a few hundred dollars more expensive for each job at my local dealer.
