Exhaust/Downpipe choice

Hi fellow cls63 w218 rwd owners, I've had this burning issue that I've been researching and I need to draw on the collective experience here. I'm planning on upgrading the exhaust mainly for the vanity of improved exhaust note but also more power. Prefer catless downpipes. The car is making 564hp at the wheels after a PP Performance tune and dry filter upgrade. Everything else is stock. Planning on a tune upgrade when exhaust is installed. Allegedly this will give me at least 30 more hp.

The options for getting this in Sydney as I see them are:

1. Weistec downpipe/1st part exhaust 4100usd shipped
2. Frequency intelligent downpipe and 1st section for 2450usd shipped (The advantage of this being the option of valve control later if i get sick of the loudness)
3. Supersprint downpipe and 1st section for 3900usd shipped
I've looked at AMS but can't find a price for it shipped to Australia.

Complete exhausts that get rid of the AMG style quad exhaust tip I'm not a fan of.

My question is:
What is everyone's personal experience with the above mentioned? Any good alternatives? Are the valve controlled systems worth it?
Anywhere to get a deal on any of these?
Is it all worth it?
Much appreciated

I got Frequency intelligent downpipe and full exhaust over the summer, it actually sounds really good especially after tuning. I didn't get the first section because it took too long to get (i heard that first section would make it extremely loud). BTW, the valve works really well, when its off, its quieter than stock exhaust. Anyway, it is much cheaper than other two options.

Thanks JIC14003 and shardul.

JIC do you mean you got the catless pipes but not the turboback portion? I like the idea of valve control when my neighbours get sick and tired of the loud exhaust late at night.

I am very keen to get the turboback downpipe/catless pipe rather than just the catless pipe but I am being told by workshops that would involve dropping the engine and is time/labour intensive without any advantage unless the turbo is being upgraded.

Is there a way of installing the turboback downpipe without dropping the engine? Is it all worth it from a performance/exhaust note POV?

On a 2WD car the engine does not have to come off. You just have to loosen the motor mounts and raise the engine by a couple of inches.

I got identical looking turbo-back downpipes to the ones Shardul showed fitted without dropping the engine but my mechanic took a while to do it. In the end he said dropping the engine would have been similar hours of labour.

What about AWD options? I just got a 17 CLS 63 AMG S and I'm looking for a little more sound and power.

The car will wake up in the sound department with just downpipe and decat...any more and i feel it will be too much

also fume smell is present, so just to keep it in mind

for the turbo back option, it will be a pain to install and might cost a bit, also think later if you want them taken off, will have to do the same again.

best of luck

Got my weistec turbopipe, downpipe, midpipe all catless installed yesterday. Holy Hell! It is LOUD.
Peak performance in Sydney installed it for me. Evolve Technik in Melbourne loaded the PP-Performance upgraded tune on my ECU.
The difference seems to be night and day. More torque low down the range. And keeps pulling on the highway. Brute force!
And the noise is unreal! Can't smell any fumes.
Apparently mechanic says was an absolute pain to install.
Can't wait to get it dynoed for new numbers. Stage 1 tune got me 564hp at wheels. I'll post the graph soon.

Here are the Kooks downpipes for the AWD. They are definitely the best fitting and highest quality ones in this style of downpipes.
