Hey all,

First post here, though I'm a long time lurker and member of benzworld. Anyway, upon researching blackvue 2CH cameras for my 2012 CLS63 and my wife's G550, I decided that I'd probably want to wire them into the fuse boxes of our vehicles for parking mode recording. Anyway, upon looking up the locations of the fuse boxes for the CLS63, I see that it should have 3:

-Engine Bay
-Left side of dashboard
-Trunk.

The engine bay and trunk look fine, but upon inspecting my left side dashboard location, when I took off the cover, I see that there is no fusebox at all. Actually, there is only a hole there where it looks like a fuse box should be. Can anyone verify that I have something very wrong here, or is a 'missing' fusebox correct for the 218 2012 CLS63, depending on options? I can't believe it took me so many years to notice this....I'll try and attached a picture shortly

The main one is in the trunk isn't it? On the right where the fist aid kit lives.

 

Is there a publicly available VIN database I can look this info up on?

 

Correct, as I stated originally, the trunk-based fuse box is present on the right side

 

There is no fuse box on the Left side (Driver Side) of the dash for the 218 CLS63. Your best option is to run the power and ground to the trunk. I went through the same pain before running the wires for my BlackView DR750. Although it may look difficult, it is not and much easier than going through the firewall into the engine bay.
