Cls63 common issues
Hey guys, the ELW warranty on my ‘12 cls63 is about to end soon, what are some common engine issues with the cls63? What could I tell the MB dealer to have them check out the car free of charge? The car is currently being serviced for an oil leak to the engine harness.
Issues that I read are common is a stretched timing chain, cylinder scoring to cylinders 1 and 5 due to proximity to turbos, and a seized low pressure fuel pump. How could I get them to check out these issues?
Thank you

Greetings 777, I'm in the same boat as you, or...er.....car rather and my car has been rock solid........knock on wood? But being out of ELW does make me think twice before romping on it. Interesting about the cylinder scoring near turbos. I hope to keep tuned into this thread for other members to share more.

Oil leak in engine harness is a common issue its caused from leaky cam position sensors. Other problems that have arisen lately since the motors are getting some real miles on them are stretched timing chains in the 2012 models ( this can be fixed with a revised chain and check valve) Also some M157's are having issues burning valves It is thought that the excessive heat from the turbos causes this. Those are the major things I am aware of.

CLS63 M157
Hi everyone I have an issue with my 2012 CLS63 my car is tuned and I’m running water math as well and i use VP important sometimes, however the car seems running good no issues I’m not that type I would race the car a lot, I live in Denver and the altitude is 5400 so I drove the car to the mountains which is altitude is 13700 stayed for 2 night when I drove back to Denver I noticed my car start smoking blue and I knew my car had serious issues I did compression test 3 times leak down test twice and they told me is the valve guide seals I have changed them and I got the car out I noticed some smoke is still going after driving the car for couple miles all the smoke went away and now my car asking to add 1qt of oil which is normal for my car every 2500k now I only drove the car for 700k and I did raced the car at lest 10times, has anyone run to an issue like this or have knowledge about it. Thank you
