Battery/Electrical Concern
Greetings all,
MB was kind enough to send a gentleman to my home to replace the primary battery for my 14 MB CLS63.
Shortly after the installation I noted two messages; Aux Battery Malfunction and Active Lane Keeping Assist Inoperative.
Mb replaced the aux battery under warranty, battery was 18 months old.
All safety functions and more are now inoperative. All steering wheel controls are inoperative.
My question: The rep did not remove the negative lead on the auxiliary ( trunk) battery prior to installing the main battery.
Can anyone please advise?

That should not have made a difference. My car sits a lot, so the other day I took it to the car wash and sprayed it off and let the radio playing while I dried the car. Battery was weak and would not start the car . Called my buddy for a jump. Drove straight to the auto parts store to buy a battery. They suggest test it for charging I left the battery and they said the battery was good. I reinstalled the battery and drove home. The next weekend it did the exact same thing. So this time a bought a battery and I had them check the aux battery. I said all that to say that each time I removed the battery I left the aux battery installed and all systems checked normal. But one thing I did notice was that while I had the weak battery installed the start/stop feature did not work. I always try and remember to turn it off when I drive then it accrued to me that I had not been turning it off. But once I installed the new battery it work the fine. I would disconnect both batteries for about ten minute and allow all the time delay relays in the modules to reset and see what happens.
