M157 Transmission Limits
Hello! I was planning on buying a CLS63S AMG at the end of this year. My plan was to do an ECU tune (not sure on Stage 1 or 2 advice would be appreciated), full bolt ons, resonator delete, and a decat. My question is, how much power can the transmission handle before the clutch starts to slip? With my plans on the car would I have to upgrade any transmission parts? I've been looking around forums and trying some google searches but I haven't been able to find any information on the transmissions limits/what I would need to do. (Transmissions really aren't my area of expertise so any info would be much appreciated)

800lbft of torque is as much as it can handle before slipping. You may or may not have to upgrade the trans depending on how aggressive your tune is.

The MCT Speedtronic transmission can easily handle 1000 tq but many tuners stop around 800 for a safety margin. It is a common practice in engineering to build in a 20% safety margin. If you have any questions on what this trans can withstand I recommend that you speak with Jerry at Eurocharged.

I've been doing my searches on forums here and it seems like with a clutch upgrade (Either Weistec or AMS) they hold up well. End goal might potentially be a turbo upgrade so I'll probably be needing that.
